The extension of line 11 of the "Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens" (RATP) leads from the previous terminus Mairie des Lilas to Rosny-sous-Bois on the north-eastern edge of the French capital. It covers a total length of around 6 kilometers and six new stations, five of which are underground. The contracted construction consortium used a Herrenknecht EPB Shield with a shield diameter of 9.08 meters to drive the underground section of the route. After the start of tunneling in February 2020, the miners reached the target shaft on July 16, 2021 after best weekly performances of up to 147 meters. After commissioning, more than 85,000 passengers per day are expected on the new route section.
