East Jeddah Tunnel Al Haramain Road Main Sewer
Saudi Arabia, Jeddah
2024 – today

Herrenknecht is involved as a supplier with two machines in this project to extend the main sewer line in the city of Jeddah. The main sewer line for East Jeddah is being built as a 14-kilometer link between East Haramain Road in the south and the outlying airport pumping station 2.

From an intermediate shaft, two Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) tunnelling machines with a diameter of 4,120 millimeters will each drive approximately 7 kilometers of tunnel, one to the north and one to the south. The geology is complex. The tunnel sections will be lined with segments.

Herrenknecht Service has also been involved in the project from the outset, from assembly on the jobsite to commissioning and support with the start of tunnelling. A spare parts package has also been delivered.
